Privacy and control

How BriefNest handles your files.

Here is how your source files are processed, stored and removed.

  • Storage and processing run on managed infrastructure

BriefNest stores your files and runs audio clean-up on infrastructure it manages. The external service providers it uses are listed in our Privacy Policy.

  • New content is encrypted

Transcripts, briefs and extracted text are encrypted with AES-256-GCM using a key BriefNest manages.

  • Delete now, or let retention do it

Delete a brief and its files whenever you choose. Original audio is removed automatically when your plan's retention period ends (90 days on Starter, a year on Professional and Business), with a warning 20 days ahead. Briefs, transcripts and notes are kept.

Transcription and brief writing use trusted AI service providers. Everything else runs on infrastructure BriefNest manages.

Frequently asked questions

Questions before you start?

Here are the practical details about testing BriefNest, choosing a plan and managing your usage.

See full pricing

No. BriefNest offers a $5 seven-day test drive instead of a free subscription. The test drive includes limited processing and storage so you can evaluate the product before choosing a paid plan, and your $5 is credited toward your first payment.

Seven days with up to 120 meeting minutes, five generated briefs, ten AI actions and 500 MB of temporary storage. A card is required to start it.

Nothing is charged automatically. The $5 test drive is a one-time purchase rather than a subscription, so it does not roll over into a plan. You choose one yourself when you are ready, and the $5 comes off your first invoice. If you do not subscribe, trial recordings are deleted 14 days after the test drive starts.

Audio as MP3, WAV, M4A or WEBM. Documents and text as PDF, DOCX, TXT, VTT or SRT, or pasted straight in. Images as JPG, PNG, WEBP or GIF.

Meeting minutes and AI actions reset each billing period: minutes measure each recording or upload (pasted transcripts, documents and scans count 150 words as a minute), and AI actions cover Ask AI answers, translations and speech narration. Storage is the total you keep. Every processed meeting includes its brief; only the $5 test drive counts briefs. Business allowances are pooled across seats.

BriefNest notifies you as your usage passes 70%, 90% and 100% of an allowance so you are never cut off without warning. Buying extra usage on top of a plan is not available yet; for now, moving to a larger plan is the way to raise an allowance.

Yes. Plan changes and cancellation are handled in the billing portal from your account settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal rather than ending access immediately. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for.

Files move over time-limited signed links into storage that BriefNest manages, and transcripts, briefs and extracted text are encrypted with AES-256-GCM using a key BriefNest manages. You can delete a brief and its files permanently whenever you choose; original audio is removed automatically when your plan's retention period ends (90 days on Starter, a year on Professional and Business), with a warning 20 days beforehand. Briefs, transcripts and notes are kept.

Yes. BriefNest uses AI services to transcribe audio, read scanned pages and write the brief. Your meetings are never used to train AI models.
